Runningco.com says: Haddonfield will be without 2006 team leaders Mike Burke, Matt Golia and Erik Hinrichsen. But don’t feel bad for the Bulldawgs. They once again return a wealth of talent for the 2007 season. Leading the way for this year’s squad will be lone-senior Dan Carreon and super sophomores Boo Vitez (Holmdel PR of 16:49) and Colin Baker. Baker missed essentially his entire freshman cross season due to injury, but after a tremendous track season (4:26 1,600), expect him to be right at the front of the Bulldawgs pack. Sophomores Ray Schlitt, David Twitchell, Dan Rood-Ojavo and freshman Ben Potts will make up the rest of the top seven. According to coach Nick Baker, the only real weakness for this team to start the season is the gap that exists between the Bulldawgs’ No. 5 man and the rest of the lineup. This, though, will only become a problem if one of the team’s normal top five has an off day. Still, there is no reason why this Haddonfield team can’t win a sectional and state title and grab a top-five spot at the Meet of Champions. |
