Clubs: Moorestown Distance Running Project - Club of distance enthusiasts who meet in Moorestown and train for marathons and other long and ultra distances. Pineland Striders - Running club near Marlton, NJ South Jersey AC - Running club based out of Haddonfield, NJ. We recommend you check out their summer "No Frills" series Breakneck Track Club - Running club near Sewell. Consists of mostly post-colligate and fast runners. Team Triumph - South Jersey's Triathlon Team Central Jersey / South Brunswick Running Group- Small group looking for other runners to meet Monday and Wednesday at 6:45 Running Videos: South Jersey Running Company Video Collection Flotrack – A new website that contains an enormous library of videos featuring professional runners. updated daily. Running Videos - a very cool list of old videos - Prefontaine, Lasse Viren, Frank Shorter, Roger Bannister, Jim Ryun, Sebastian Coe, Alan Webb, Bob Kennedy, and even high school Footlocker Championships More! Running Videos - The Racing Snail Running Club's site of 100+ running videos Youtube.com – Most of us have been there but no website carries as much running content as youTube, start your search with Steve Prefontaine. Running News Track and Field News - This popular monthly magazine also keeps an up to date news and results page. Coolrunning.com - Originally out of New England, this website has been a leading websites for runners of all abilities looking for an online training log, training advice and daily news and results. Letsrun.com - Known for its message board and performance drug news, Letsrun.com also feature a quote of the day and news features Magazines: Runners World is the most popular magazine for runners. We highly recommend Running Times for more serious runners. It is a bit more sophisticated than Runners World – which is aimed more at the casual runner than the competitive runner. Track & Field News is the full coverage at the College and World level. Books: Daniels' Running Formula by Jack Daniels. This is a great book if you want to know in more depth some of the scientific principles that drive our Moorestown distance running program. The Perfect Mile : Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It by Neal Bascomb. This is more of a novel that tells the story of how three runners pursued the elusive 4:00 Mile. Not to spoil the ending, but Roger Bannister broke it in 1954. The current record is 3:43 by Moroccan Hicham El Guerrouj, set in 1999. Sub 4:00: Alan Webb and the Quest for the Fastest Mile by Chris Lear. This book follows the life of Alan Webb during his first year at Michigan. Running with The Buffaloes: A Season Inside with Mark Wetmore, Adam Goucher, and the University of Colorado Men's Cross-Country Team by Chris Lear. This is about Cross Country, but is actually a better book than Sub 4:00. It is my personal favorite running book. Alberto Salazar's Guide to Road Racing : Championship Advice for Faster Times from 5K to Marathons by Alberto Salazar and Richard A. Lovett. Although not specifically about track or Cross Country, this is a great book on all the basics of distance running by one of the finest runners in US history. Once a Runner - If you can find it for less than $50.00 buy it because you sell it for more OR you can read over and over again and be inspired for a lifetime!
