Training Goals and Philosophy
Training the neuromuscular system to respond to the specific demands of sport is as important as sport specific training.  Preparing the body will prevent injury and provide confidence on the playing field.  The training that I provide emphasizes basic techniques used by most athletes.  I teach athletes the mechanics of running and sprinting. Although many athletes have raw speed, running and sprinting technique is a learned skill.  Learning how to run properly will enhance speed and endurance.   I incorporate agility and quickness drills that aid in the stop-change direction-go pattern of many sports.  Jumping and bounding drills train the muscles to quickly react during competition.  Stretching and flexibility prevents injury and allows muscles to function at there full potential.

I always strive to teach my athletes the why behind all the drills and techniques they perform.  I encourage them to practice running technique until it becomes natural.  I would like them to come away with a better understanding of the way our bodies works as athletes and how they can use what I have taught them on the playing field.
